Here’s what you need to know about this year.
Bible:
Bible test will be on Thursday. Each week’s verse will be written as a part of the test. Notes will be on line for each test. The link is found on this site. Students will copy Bible verse two times each morning. This will be checked on Thursday morning and will be a grade.
Language Arts:
Students will have a reading comprehension passage each Friday which will be a test grade. Book reports will be due before the last day of each month. They will alternate between written and oral reports. This reading will be done outside the classroom. The reports must include Title, Author, Characters, setting (10 points each), and summary (60 points). We will read textbook stories as well as novels in class. Students will be quizzed on the information that we study in class. Grammar quizzes will be given as a skill is concluded.
Science:
Chapter vocabulary test will be given as the chapters are completed. Students will have vocabulary cards to study. Chapter tests will be given as the chapters are completed as well. These two tests will not be on the same day. Study guides will be given prior to the chapter test. Projects will be assigned as appropriate and you will be informed of the grading rubric for each.
Spelling:
Spelling pretest will be given on Thursday. Students scoring 96% or higher will not need to take the test on Friday. Spelling and Vocabulary tests will both be on Friday. Students will not be required to spell vocabulary words.
Please not that generally we will follow this schedule. If the calendar requires a change, you will be informed of the alternate testing day. Grades will be posted in Gradelink as quickly as possible, usually by the end of the week or on Monday.
